Our Habits of Work and Learning (HOWLs) are focused on cultivating active learners. Our HOWLs are:

  • Responsibility

  • Perseverance

  • Curiosity

  • Craftsmanship

Our Community Values are focused on cultivating ethical humans. Our Community Values are:

  • Respect

  • Integrity

  • Collaboration

  • Compassion

We believe that students develop and deepen their character through engaging in rigorous tasks that have value in the larger community. These HOWLs and Community Values form the foundation of our Qualities of a WHEELS Graduate.

Student Led Conferences

One of the key drivers toward our mission of working with families to support all students is the Student-Led Conference. From PreK-12th Grade, three times each year, students reflect on their work with their families and Crew Leaders. This practice is foundational to student-led assessment and is one of our most important methods to challenge students to reflect on their academic, intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Many of the materials we have developed are available online so that other educators can develop this powerful practice further in their own classrooms and schools.
